Sarah Sunderlin

Sarah Sunderlin, MSN, RN, CPAN is the Legal Nurse Consultant who coordinates the medical staff at Harry S. Cohen & Associates, P.C. She interviews clients to obtain their medical histories, reviews and summarizes medical records and she acts as a liaison with our physician experts. Sarah also assists the attorneys with various aspects of trial preparation that includes conducting in-depth medical research in medical journals and professional literature and works with the attorneys in keeping abreast of the latest research in various fields of medicine.

Sarah has over 19 years of clinical nursing experience, including bedside roles in med-surg, step-down, abdominal transplant, neuro-trauma rehabilitation, Emergency Department and pre and post-operative units. Sarah has held previous leadership roles in pre and post-operative units, infusion services, and interim oversite of Surgical Services for two hospital campuses. Sarah brings over 18 years of nursing experience and 9 years of PeriAnesthesia experience both at the bedside and in leadership roles.

Sarah earned her Practical Nursing Diploma from Clover Park Technical College, her Associate Degree of Science in Nursing from Community College of Allegheny County, her Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing from Ohio University, and her Masters Degree of Science in Nursing specializing in Leadership and Administration from Capella University. Sarah graduated as a Phi Theta Kappa member, Golden key International Honor Society member, Summa Cum Laude member, and Sigma theta Tau International Honor Society member.

She is a member of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN), Pennsylvania Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (PAPAN), American Nurses Association (ANA), American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), and Sigma. She has had several poster submissions and abstracts accepted by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA), Southwestern Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (SWPONL), and Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (PONL). Sarah was invited to present at the International Collaboration of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ICPAN) and was also a three-time podium presenter at the 2018 ASPAN conference. She earned her CPAN certification in 2017 and was nominated for Nurse Leader of the year in 2019.

Sarah is married and lives with her husband Chris and their three daughters in Cranberry Pennsylvania.
